The Boys and Girls 2011 Basketball Teams are Region Champions

The Boys and Girls Basketball Teams at J. R. Trippe Middle School are both the new champions of the Middle Georgia Middle School Athletic Association.

Both teams finished the regular season with only one loss each.  Tournament play was held in Dublin.  The girls began their tournament play on Wednesday, February 2 with a win over Bleckley County.  The boys began their tournament play on Thursday, February 3 with a win over Toombs County.  On Friday, February 4 the J. R. Trippe girls defeated Swainsboro, and the J. R. Trippe boys defeated West Laurens.  On Saturday, February 5 the

J. R. Trippe girls defeated West Laurens to become the league champions, and the J. R. Trippe boys defeated Swainsboro to become the league champions.

Members of the J. R. Trippe Boys Basketball Team include Josh Eason, Jordan Black, Adrian Jones, Rico Rogers, Devin Williams, Terrance Gillis, Blake Corbett, Derrick McLendon, Montaze Carson, Micaiah Henry, Wil Chambliss, Jeremye Eason, Carlos Rock, Terryun Page, Dariunte Massey, Greg Johnson, Todd Lanier, Tyrin Page, and manager Tyshon Kelley.  The coach for the team was Lee McCloud, assisted by Dr. Henry Hankerson.

Members of the J. R. Trippe Girls Basketball Team include Destiny Gilchriest, Trinity Hamm, Chambria Harrison, Chynna Hodge, Kameron Jordan, Tanaye Blackshear, Jozalyn Eason, Tamaya Ellis, Whitney Hunt, Brianna McKinney, Zaria Reed, Kirsten Shinhoster, Gabrielle Chambliss, Destiny McRae, Keyuna Moore, and Maci Johnson.  The head coach for the team was Stephanie Wardlaw, assisted by Sharon Hodge.
